Here is something my wife and I cooked up for Halloween. Hope you enjoy!
As pointed out on warseer, a very cool wiki can be found at the following address: http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Category:UnreleasedThis category includes miniatures designed and sculpted for Citadel but which were never directly released either for sale or as a trophy, award or promotional item. That is, apart from a small number cast for trial purposes, the miniatures did not go into production. Where known, the background to each figure is shown.
Well since Littleboyblues decided to up and model himself a BFG force I am thinking about following suit. My biggest conundrum that I have at the moment is what faction should I play? I have a whole host of options to go with the armies that I play – CSM, Daemons, Orks, Marines, Necrons, and a bit of Guard – but which one should I choose? I think I am gonna stick with what is close to my heart and model up a Nurgle BFG Force. From looking at the resources on GWs website it looks like I can field a Plague Fleet led by the Terminus Est itself! I’m practically giddy with excitement. From what I hear 1500 pts is a pretty standard size for BFG. Since I have no clue how to play (even though I have downloaded the book and read a part of it) I...
I remember way back in the 90′s when the first multi part box set came out. It was chaos warriors and it was the first kit where the models weren’t all in the same pose. I wasn’t playing chaos at the time, but it sure made an impression. I remembering thinking how awesome the models were and how excited I was that GW was going to start making kits that had multipart pieces inside. So flash forward to last week when I opened up my new box of chaos warriors excited to put something new together thinking that the kit had surely come an even longer way even from my distant memory. All I can say is that I am disappointed. All the warriors have the same exact pose and they all have the same cloak cast on the back. Maybe I am just spoiled with 40k models, but...
Thought I would share with you how I do my dirt bases. I have used the bases for my Orks and on my IG army (if you can call two squads of guys an army) First step is to glue the sand down to the base. Once it has After that prime it black. Next give it a coat of P3 Gun Corps Brown. Wash it with P3 Bloodstone. Wash it with P3 Umbral Umber. Drybrush with Gun Corps Brown. And then finish it off by drybrusing it with P3 Hammerfall Khaki. Easy as that (actually a lot more work than I do for my grey bases but I like the way it looks.)
Here is an oldie but goodie. I picked this model up a while back and he has been sitting in my closet ever since. I decided to dig him out and paint him up to work as my unit of Plague Marine’s personal icon. This guy looks kinda goofy but I think he will fit in nicely when I get him painted up. I am planning on doing him the way I have done my most recent Death Guard – Bone all over with green on the shouldpads and shin guards. I’ll be sure to get some pics up when he is done.
This mini supposedly comes from Helldorado but I have not been able to find a direct link to it on their site. Monkey has been searching for a suitable mini for Thunder Wolf Cavalry. Those of you that have seen the Canis mini know the marine on top is actually molded to the pewter wolf – its one piece. I think this mini is great, but as I understand it Hell dorado is experiencing some monetary difficulties…… Anybody out there finding any other solutions?
There is a very nice Dreadnought Tactica over at Imperius Dominatus. I agree with most of the ideas that he sets forth in his post. He goes into a good amount of detail on each type of Dreadnought – Ironclad, Regular, and Venerable – and even talks about some of the more popular builds – Rifleman (Duall Autocannon), Long Range Anti-Tank (Rocket Launcher + Lascannon) and a few others. He also talks about the pros and cons of Drop Pods. Was a very good read especially considering that I am running four Dreadnoughts in my Imperial Fists army.
A while back I was working on this Drop Pod and the following happened – from our forums - Author Message big_dHogs of War Inquisitor Posts: 102Join date: 2009-06-07 Subject: Drop Pod Fury Wed Sep 02, 2009 9:25 pm I tried putting together a drop pod tonight. Anyone got any tips on these things cuz I sure do need em? I had decided to make it where the doors would open and close and ran into a bunch of problems. The doors werent all on there just so so they would rub the side of the posts. Also they didn’t shut all the way. I decided to soldier on and was out in the garage doing some work on it and I accidently threw it against the wall (yeah, I know) and it exploded. Every freaking piece came undone. So now it is sitting in pieces on my work...
