Ogre Kingdom to Chaos Ogre

A regular on our forum who I have done some painting for in the past decided he wanted some Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Ogres. He had previously bought my Ogre Kingdoms army from me and decided to re-use some of these models to build up a Chaos Ogre horde for his Warriors of Chaos army. We talked a bit about it and he said he wanted some chaos tattoos on the models. IDM is just around the corner and I am officially ready.  List has been submitted and dues are paid.  As a long time Tyranid player this will be my first foray into a tournament with a non-nid army.  I have playtested the space elves a fair amount, enough to know what I like and don’t like.  This list’s strategy is much different than the bubble-wrap-and-run-into-their-guns nids style.  Apologize for the shot below not having a lot of fine detail.  Hard to do when you are trying to get a lot of models (as Eldar goes) in one shot. With the exception of the 3 Jet bikes, Falcon with 5 Dire Avengers & Eldrad (back row center), and the Autarch (front center), you have three units duplicated: Fire dragons, Fire Prism, and Dire Avengers.  I know, not much on the variety in this Eldar Army List but I’m going with...

*Rant Warning* Suck On My Netlist

I’ve been thinking, ruminating and stewing and something has been irking me lately.  The term “NETLIST” seems to be thrown around in every other Warhammer 40k post on the internet, and it often comes off like it is an attempt to be a detractor of a person’s skill and army composition.  Frankly I cry malarkey, as we all know there are a few stand out units in each codex and there are subpar units in each codex.  The term netlist, from the best I can tell, simply means someone is taking what the vast majority of the world feels is superior in the dex and probably spamming them.  The fact that this matches what the rest of the world feels is probably optimal gets you the token name of NETLIST. So I am now playing a Tyranid army at IDM.  It’s a big change for me, and I think unless I get tons of practice in I am going to get steam rolled.  On the bright side, I have painted almost the entire army.  Here are a couple of pictures.   Finshed Gene stealer   I have played two games of Warhammer 40k with my Tyranids and gotten my face knocked in.  We will see where it goes from here.   Here is a video.  Someone told me they had never seen it, and that seemed wrong.  This video contains strong language.

This will be the finale to my Warhammer 40k Eldar display board! You can read about the build in my last post here. After finishing building, wiring and taping over the LEDs, I then took a can of white spray primer and primed the board 2-3 times to give a purposefully uneven white undercoat.  I wanted some areas to have a better coverage, leave a few spots which should show through a little through the snow.  After the primer dried, I peeled off the tape in all the areas and again tested the lights to make sure they were working.  Then, again using gorilla glue, I attached all the  opaque crystals over the LEDS and glued down the trees into their places.  I used some white touch up paint to cover any places that had not been sprayed. Dark Eldar Models By the Bucket Load

This week has been crazy for Dark Eldar players. We have seen the release of several new kits and have pictures of more that are on the way. This weekend the Cronos Parasite Engine/Talos kit, Dark Eldar Venom, and Dark Eldar Scourges all hit the shelves.     Hot on the heels of this release we already have some pictures from the next wave of models. We have new Wracks, Grotesques, a new Haemonculous, and the one I am the most excited about – the Voidraven Bomber/Razorwing Jet Fighter. With this release I think pretty much every unit in the Dark Eldar book will have a model outside of a few special characters. This battle report will not be the most accurate thing because I didn’t write anything down and I got no sleep the night before. Ninja Dwarves I’m a pretty loyal Dark elf player but after reading the ard boy scenarios I was hesitant to take them. The first mission screwed over wizards and all rare choices were liabilities. Normally this wouldn’t affect my dark elves but how I think they would have to be ran in an ard boyz environment it did. I borrowed my friends dwarfs and built a close combat ninja style army… And boy did it work. The list was as follows.
