Free Army Builder Replacement – Battlescribe!

I’ll admit it, I’m not much of a number cruncher when it comes to 40k. I tend to play around with Army Builder to see how I can fit things together. With my Blood Angels I did this and ended up with a alpha strike drop angels list that was at the very least fun to play. Having bought my Dell Streak 7 earlier this year, then more recently updating to a Samsung Galaxy 10, I had been on the look out for a good roster tool for the Android platform. Never really finding anything that caught my eye I finally gave up a few months ago. Then I found out about BattleScribe.

Necron Fried Chicken One-Two-Flamer-Punch

After my initial play testing on Necrons there has been a combo that has been outstanding for me and I haven’t really seen it discussed anywhere else so I will endeavor to tell you how it works here. Necrons have some neat assault options, but I’m really not sure how useful they are since if you are stuck in combat you can’t shoot the enemy. Very similar to what guard experience. At best, I think the CC options are best used lightly in lists as a counter assault unit. But that being said, I have a favorite unit/combo that I think is even better for use against the troops that do make it to your line. It also offers up a way to remove whole units at a time once you have cracked open those juicy transports with all your annihilation barges and triarch stalkers. Guard have flamer wagons...

Here is a quick and easy way to paint a Catachan Chimera. Prime the model white Use an airbrush to spray the model with Graveyard Earth. Let dry. Put blue tac on the model for your camo pattern. Spray the model with Camo Green. Let dry. Apply more blue tac over the model, leaving the old blue tac in place. Spray the model Catachan Green. Let dry. Remove the blue tac and you will have a nice camo pattern. Paint the guns and tracks and you are done. I have used this technique on my Catachan tanks and it has turned out really nice. You get a sharp camo pattern with very little effort.
