This week I finished a project I had been working on for over two years – an Ork Stompa. I picked this guy up back when they first came out. I put him together pretty quickly after I received the model, but then I stalled for a LONG time. Last year we ran a big Apocalypse game so I got him painted up for the event. I ran out of time/interest during the painting process and the model only got basecoated.
Well some time has passed and we have decided that we need to have another Apocalypse game. Since this model just would not die last time, I decided that he needed a proppa paint job for this go round so I decided to finish him up. All I really had left to do was spray him with a nice thick layer of Badab Black and then pick out a few details – some brass, some bronze, a bit of red – and he would be good to go.
The final results were quite nice. Adding the wash added a lot to the model. I am going all in for this Apocalypse game – I currently have another Ork Super Heavy, a looted Shadowsword, that is completed and I am building a second Stompa and a second looted Super Heavy. Our game is on the 17th so hopefully I will have time to get all of this done.

Looks great. Can’t wait to square off against frik and frak – the twin stompa brothers.
It’s amazing what a nice wash can do for a model isn’t it. He looks great.
