Just got my hands on a copy of the new Warhammer 40k 6th Edition rulebook and there are a few things that are popping out to me. The first is the USR for Brotherhood of Psykers – there is also a mention of Brotherhood of Sorcerors. Hello Thousand Sons. My guess is that units of Thousand Sons will operate much like current units of Grey Knights Work.
Another USR that cought my eye was Bulky. Bulky Models count as two units in a transport. There are also Very Bulky which count as three and Extremely Bulky which count as five. My guess is that Terminators will be Bulky, Oblits will be Very Bulky, and infantry on 60mm bases (Blood Crushers) will be Extremely Bulky.
Fear is in. It works a bit differently than I was expecting. You test for it each fight sub-phase. ATSKNF and Fearless are immune to it, but just because you cause fear does not make you immune.
There are now wounds suffered for losing combat and being fearless. Buff to horde Orks and Tyranids.
New USR Missile Lock – makes your blasts scatter 1d6 instead of 2d6. That is pretty big, not sure what will be getting it though.
One big thing I have seen is that Toughness bonuses from wargear work against Instant Death. So an Ork on a bike will only suffer Instant Death from S10 weapons.
It also looks like you can’t use Psychic Abilites to buff units out of a tank. You can only use these abilities on the unit in the vehicle.
USRs have also been cleaned up as far as what happens when an IC joins a unit. It says if you need the whole unit to have the USR, or if only one model in the unit having it will grant it to the whole unit. Glad about this one as it was always a pain to try and remember how it worked with what powers for units and ICs.
There is still a ton more in the book and I am sure a lot of new things will come to light over the next few days. All in all I am pretty excited but I really want to see the army specific FAQs before I get too deep into any planning.

I assume you meant “no wounds suffered for losing combat and being fearless”. If so, combined with being able to glancex3 rhinos to wreck, preferred enemy Hive Guard, and potential psyker buffs makes this Tyranid player smile. Things are looking better and better. The hive mind might just wake up and get out of bed for this one.
